Cheers Café, Bar & Tavern
Since its purchase in August 2005, Cheers Café Bar & Tavern has seen significant changes and development and as a consequence, winning Best Bar None (BBN) gold status in 2009 and 2012, Famous Grouse whisky top 100 UK pub in 2010 and in 2011 winning the prestigious DRAM award for best outdoor area in Scotland. We also won the SLTN award for best smoking facility 2011. Our latest award was Gold in Best Bar None for 2012, hosted in January of this year.
Cheers is located at the heart of Fraserburghs’ town centre. The harbour, which is the largest shellfish port in Europe, Scotlands lighthouse museum and our ‘Blue Flag’ golden beach, are only a short walking distance away. Fraserburgh also boasts a superb links golf course, which is the 7th oldest in the world.
Cheers is accessed by a lane off the main street giving it quite an unassuming entrance, however, once you walk the short distance to the main door you come across a licensed premises with a capacity of 500 plus!
Good homemade food, proper Italian espresso coffee, real ales, a large selection of malts (82) plus quality accommodation are all on offer as well as a large range of popular drinks.
We have two sheltered smoking facilities with TV’s in our outside area and both pool and darts can be played. During the summer on nice days there is regular live entertainment and fundraising events.
Children are welcome (till 11pm) and baby facilities are available. Free WiFi is accessible throughout the premises.
Café/Bar
The Café Bar was renovated in April 2011 to a high standard. Televisions are located throughout the premises and all major sporting events are shown through Sky Sports and ESPN. The main bar is an excellent meeting place. It is bright and inviting. Meals are served 7 days a week and every effort is made to serve them speedily, especially at lunch times when time is at a premium. Our homemade food is sourced locally, tastes great and is priced to suit the tightest of budgets. Half portions and childrens portions are always on offer.
Accommodation
Cheers Tavern consists of six bedrooms. All the rooms come with a 32” LCD TV, DVD player, coffee/tea facilities, toiletries and hair dryer. A large selection of DVD’s are available to watch for free.
Beer Garden
The beer garden is located at the rear of the building. It has a capacity of over 300. The outside area is a DRAM 2011 award winning facility and seats over 200 people. The outdoor area has outdoor heating along with a sun readable TV.
